About the Event

Run for Registan was more than just a marathon—it was a movement that brought
together sports, social consciousness, and community strength on one stage. The event was organized
on 12th January 2023 to mark National Youth Day, celebrated in
honour of Swami Vivekananda Ji’s birth anniversary.

Format & Highlights

The marathon was conducted in two formats—a 3 km run and an 8 km run,
both beginning from Sheo. Thousands of enthusiastic participants from different districts joined,
making it one of the biggest youth events in the desert region. Winners received cash prizes of
₹31,000, ₹21,000, and ₹11,000 to honour their
dedication and outstanding performance.

Mass Participation & Support

The event gained tremendous support from youths, social workers, religious leaders, and
spiritual preachers
. Their active involvement added value and purpose, promoting an inspiring
message of youth empowerment and collective responsibility.

Social Impact & Purpose

As the first event of its kind in the desert region, Run for Registan set a new benchmark by promoting
fitness, community participation, and consciousness towards a
cleaner and greener environment. It was a transformative movement that encouraged
people of all ages to embrace a healthy lifestyle, unity, and the spirit of togetherness.

Through this initiative, the aim was not only to engage the youth in sports but also to inspire
collective action for a more aware, socially responsible, and sustainable future.
